About My Story
Greetings!
I’m Kim Graves. Thank you for visiting my website. When I was younger, my paternal grandmother Lillie "Belle" had a bunch of old photo albums with hundreds of photographs of my family. I loved looking at them.
I'm from the McLeansville/Greensboro area. I have an eclectic taste in music, movies and food. I've played the piano since I was 7 and I am the mother of two amazing kids (Zoe and Ian).
My maternal grandmother, "Dot" for short, took notice and bought my first camera...a Pentax film camera. Oh, did I enjoy that camera. I snapped away and took many candids. I took the Pentax camera with me until I graduated in 2002 from UNC-Greensboro with a degree in Media Studies (concentration in News and Documentary). Since graduation, I have put my Pentax camera down and joined the Canon family. I've worked in television and advertising prior to starting my own photography business in 2013 with Kim Devanney Photography. I am continuing my journey with Belle Dot Photography and hopefully you will allow me to continue to capture your moments.
I am still passionate about your family photos and your small gatherings, but COVID-19 brought a huge shift in my business model. I once was heavily involved in special events and weddings. The shift opened my creativity. What do I love after my family and friends...food. I love food. I use to love going to restaurants and tasting my town. I was never an outstanding cook, but I loved to eat with my loved ones and most people do. I've gotten to know several owners and I found a new passion...food photography. I want your food to look as good as it taste. Do you gather with friends to enjoy a meal? Those are the times we all want to remember.
